Route plan
Scattershot Shooter changes the Colossal Crossbow into a close-range Blast Shot weapon. Explosive Device finishes the branch, while the two crowns make the normal-attack payoff worth the added range risk.

Pickup order
Secure Scattershot Shooter before buying narrow close-range pieces. Finish Explosive Device and the dual-crown pair, then take Reloading Wooden Crate or Crossbow Quiver based on actual downtime. Scythe of Berut is a payoff, not an opening item.
How to play it
Stand at the outer edge of the shotgun spread so every pellet can connect without touching the target. Empty the magazine during a safe pattern, move while reloading and return only when the next full burst is ready.
Survival rule
Close range is the build's real cost. Keep a dash for the exit and take Endure or defensive Artifacts when the blast window is too short. More damage does not help if the second magazine cannot be fired safely.
When to pivot
Without both crowns, continue only when the weapon and reload package are already strong. Reload Device into Planet Crossbow is the cleaner ranged pivot; an incomplete crown bag should not force a close-range playstyle.
The final magazine shot matters
Explosive Device connects the final magazine shot to final-combo-hit effects. The dual crowns therefore depend on that hit and the crown’s upgrade level; do not assume every pellet has guaranteed critical chance. This route began with a pre-1.0 recipe.
